| ‘When we set out to develop the customer
facing elements of our stores to be far more friendly, efficient
and useful, our in-house ability to develop, manage and undertake
the IT elements of a very aggressive programme looked unachievable.
The idea of utilising external resource was a challenge for us
having recently reduced headcount; but David and Croft worked
with the IT managers to develop and evolve the scope of the programme
from an IT perspective, through pilot and then implementation
stages and basically helped make the project happen.
In 2006 we completed the first cycle of the "BDP's",
having refurbished over 400 stores. The involvement of David
and his team have helped create a close working relationship
with regular strategic reviews to discuss the direction and
opportunities our business may take and for exchanging ideas.
One true measure of the success of the Branch Development Programme
was that it has been almost off the radar for many months from
an IT management perspective, as our property team now liaise
directly with Croft.
It is safe to say that engaging David and Croft to assist us
meant we started much quicker than if we had tried to go it
alone and we would never have coped with the peak workloads
and would have had to put substantially more management time
into making the project a success.’
